This project was developed between the Darlington Railway Museum, members of GOLD and Darren Bradley, a ceramic artist, who showed the group how to make and decorate a series of ceramic tiles for a mural which is now displayed in the North Road Railway Museum.
After a series of sessions with the artist, members of the Heritage Tiles Project were able to create unusual and individual tiles that celebrate the importance of Darlington’s history as a railway town, as well as something of our own personal histories.
